My Good friends car , a chick that I dont want to get raped at a dealer/mechanic..


She has the "Service now" with a wrench on the dash..anyone know exactly what this is, or its a sort of just turn off check a few things in the real world?

In NJ, it's about $500 for the oil and brake fluid change.

 

And some dealers, like one near me, will charge closer to $700 or $800 for the oil change, cabin filter, and brake flush.

 

It's inexpensive to do yourself --- I did it and have no auto/mechanical experience. Total cost for the air filter, cabin filter, brake flush and oil change was less than $200.

I was quoted $900 for the 20k mile service at a dealer in NC.
