The competition pack gets you the wheels, a 10mm drop and that's it. If you spec your car right you get the adjustable EDC anyway as I have it in mine. I knew I was going to put a set of HRE's on there anyway so for me I figured I'd put the $3k saving from the ZCP option pack towards a set .

I actually got the best trade offer I've had yet on my 911 from the dealer I bought this M3 from. Porsche offered me insultingly low figures despite me being a repeat customer. BMW came in $4k above Porsche's *best* offer.

They are different and they are also wider than the ZCP package of E46 days. E46 ZCP wheels are 19x8.5 by 19X9.5, while the 2011 ZCP wheels are 19X9 and 19X10. My car is fitted with 255/35/19 and 285/30/19.

Dave, the ZCP cars also have a recalibrated EDC vs. the non ZCP EDC as well as the DSC is tuned somewhat different. The shocks have different valving as well. I for one didn't want an aftermarket kit on the car so the ZCP seemed to be the best choice for the factory .4" drop. Not to mention I love the wheels..remind me of my RG4s from my E46 M3 days

Previous M3..

I love the ZCP wheels too, I wouldn't have complained if I'd got them that's for sure!

I was told the EDC was the same if you specified it as an individual option but you're probably right, salesmen are never a perfect source of information

Did you buy your car new? If so, that's an insane deal? I'm looking at 2009 M3s with under 20k miles and they are going for $55k.

Basically yes. Car was 3 months old with a couple of thousand miles on it.

Are you a member with the BMWCCA? If you've been a member for over a year, your eligible for a BMWCCA rebate up to $1500.

Just saying fyi...

The EDC calibration is the only thing that can't be converted. The EDC on the ZCP cars in sport mode are a dynamic calibration why the sport mode on non ZCP cars is a static calibration.

just in case anyone else is looking for a brand new M3, there are (were) awesome lease deals for the e93 for the month of feb. they may change tomorrow however. with the money factor and residuals, leasing makes more sense than buying (if you are into that). basically, an M3 with msrp of $80k could be leased for 3 years, 15k miles/yr for less than $800/mo with zero costs (before taxes). about $100/mo lower if you do the european delivery. just a fyi.

Can anyone comment on the durability of a carbon fiber roof? I plan to park the car outside year round -- the Porsche will remain in the garage

I love the way the CF looks especially on a lighter color car -- I would prefer not to have the sunroof.

I dont think the carbon fiber roof will lose its gloss or anything being parked outside, but I always wondered...what about wax, polish and stuff, can you use the same detailers on a carbon fiber roof or anything

What do you mean? That's the deal - you don't pay for any maintenance during the 4 year warranty period. Pretty well known. I've had several of these cars over the years and that is the deal and it is nice.

OK, that's you. Seems irrelevant.

That's a great deal. I leased my '08 M3 with a $67K msrp in Jan 2009 for $712/mo incl taxes w/$2000 drive off when BMW had a special on 6sp sedans.

M3 is a great daily driver. My only complaint is the small tank which makes for too frequent trips to the gas station for someone like me who drives a lot. I have almost 40K miles in 25 months w/zero problems.

Congrats on the M3.. I test drove it before getting into my Targa and it felt a little too similar to my 135i and if you are into 6spd. nothing compares to a Porsche. Take care and keep the updates coming!

You treat the roof like the rest of the car - wax or polish - it doesn't matter. I just sold my E92 M3 with Carbon roof and it looked as new despite being in weather a lot. Dave, as I said in an earlier post, you'll love your time with the M3.
