Iphone 4 connection
Iphone 4 connection
I know my IPhone connects to the PCM through bluetooth but can I also plug it in with the same connection cable I use for an IPod? Thanks, Doug
I would suggest getting a Y-cable. It has an iPhone connector one one end, the other one is split into a USB connection and the DIN connector. Worked much better for than a regular iPhone cable, or the din-only cable.
Thanks so much. I forgot to say I have a 2010 4s and was worried I might damage the IPhone if I just tried it without asking the question. I do have the y cable so I'll give it a try. Doug
You guys sure about the iPhone in the y-connector. (And I say that because when I had the 09' and PCM. I seem to recall hooking up my iPhone (3g) and it would only charge it. It did not really recognize it as anything else.....ie for iPod usage).
No damage at all. Just that it only functioned as a charging port as I remember. (My little iPod though, worked fine when connected)
The Bluetooth connection was perfect though. (Only wish the POS CDR30 in the RS would allow for an upload of the phone book).

Yes. Both connectors DIN and USB plugged. IPhone will charge and connect its iPod to the PCM. Bluetooth will deal with the phone.
Dismiss warning when you plug it in.

I use the Y-cable on an iPhone 4G in an '09 997.2. Works well. Sometimes it takes a while to "load" the iPod metadata (playlists, etc) but mostly a pleasant experience, except for the quality of the Bose stereo.
