Test drove '07GT3 today

A beautiful black GT3 with low miles. Visually very appealing. Clutch super heavy, I've driven several race cars with the clutch way lighter. Gearbox is great: short shifting, very tight. Steering is precise, better than in any other 997 I've tried. Loved the engine note and very high redline. With all this being said, I don't see this car as anything but a track weapon. And in my middle age I am not sure I'd love driving it on the track either. For those who consider GT3 as a DD: forget about it. That kind of hard core borders on S&M in a big way. Before I drove it I was considering trading in my '09 C4S for it but not anymore. Although my C4S (launch edition) will not be able to stay with that GT3 on the track, I believe, it'll be a lot more pleasant all around experience (and PDK will make me look a better driver than I really am).

I looked at an 07 GT3 as well. In the end I went with an 09 C2S. If it hadn't been for issues with my left leg I'd be in the GT3.

I disagree.... 997.1 GT3 is fine for DD use. The stock GT3 ride feels like a 997S on a Damptronics... but I would not call myself "middle aged"...

I'm a young guy and I would not want to ever DD my 3. Clutch is way stiffer then comfortable in traffic, and the suspension isn't my idea of smooth. With that being said, I wouldn't have it any other way.

The 997.1GT3 is fine as a DD IMO. It is a street car, that is designed for everyday use, as well as being at home on the track.

I rotate the 3 between my others and it works fine for me as a DD. Just budget for the bumper lip replacement every couple months and enjoy your drive away from those bad roads.
