The dreaded RMS leak, fortunately for me, it's covered under CPO, the mechanic also notices a transmission leak, got that fixed as well. Thank God for CPO.

On a brighter note, I saw a GT2RS in the showroom, as well as a Carrera GT, and a GTS. The GT2RS is sold, it's all black with red interior. There are tons of C4S which make sense, since the AWD comes in handy in Colorado. I took some crabby pics with my Blackberry. Will upload them later, don't have the software on my personal laptop, only on my work one.

That's great that CPO covered those issues - you never know when a dealer will play the "mod" card to deny a warranty claim. Sounds like you have an enlightened dealer.

yeah, Marcus, my service advisor from Stevinson imports is a cool guy. He sounds like he's also a Porsche enthusiast, he said they mod a lot of cars there so they know RMS issues has nothing to do with my aftermarket turbo.

Yeah, they are a cool dealership, he told me that some local dealers will turn me away when they see all the mods that's been done to my car, I believe him. Since they also do mods for their customers, he said they tend to 'overlook' mods and look at the real issue. He did say my suspension and exhaust will not be covered under warranty.

Pretty interesting. Stevinson noticed a RMS leak on my '07 C4 when I took it in for an oil change at 1000 miles (because I'm compulsive). They did the oil change and RMS fix under the CPO. Agree; no complaints about Marcus!

It can be fixed . I haven't had it on my 997 cars but my 2002 996 had it . It was fixed and the car ran fine .

07 and still had issues? From what I've read on the forums, it was only on the 2005 models. . They had parts in stock, so I assume this is a very common problem.

I had an identical story last year...brought it in for an oil change and they identified an RMS leak AND a transmission leak. I was told it was a rare situation but I'm now wondering how rare it actually was. I also have a CPO so it was all taken care of - thank God for CPO - it paid for itself and more with that one problem.

Thanks man, nice meeting you, when Marcus introduce me to you. I thought your name sounded familiar but I didn't want to say, are you a 6speed member at that time.

Anyway, here are the crappy pics that I promised.

Supposed to be a picture of the interior but b/c of the glare, there's not much to see.

Had my RMS leak fixed with just 1 week remaining on warranty on my '06 which had 19,xxx mi at the time. It was in having the mandatory oil change for the Easy Care warranty. Got quite lucky.
