Header geometry, need help...

Hey guys, I did some searching, cannot seem to find the information I'm seeking. I currently run a full Milltek system, headers/sport cats/mufflers to center exit. I'm considering going a different direction with the exhaust/cat set-up, possibly GMG, FVD, Cargraphic or Fabspeed.

The question I have is about the header geometry.....Do different aftermarket companies use different header geometry or is it always the same as OEM? I'm considering leaving the Milltek headers in place going with different sport cats, mufflers and center exit piping. Does anybody have experience with aftermarket headers that that bolt up differently to the cats than OEM headers? My hunch is that all of the aftermarket headers maintain OEM geometry, but I could certainly be incorrect in that assumption.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Jay

I think you will find more choices with your 997.1 and my guess is that not all vendors use the same tube geometry/size and collector design. I am looking for a set of headers and sport cats for my 997.2. I will most likely go with FVD's long tube headers and 200 cell cats.

If you search headers on here you'll find lots of information.

farfinator is infamous around these parts
Given they offer the cat back system separately, it is highly like that the header "option" has the same fundamental geometry as OEM. But you could just call Bob at Stratmosphere and ask.
