White 997S gets Shark-a-fied with LWF & HRE Competition Wheels

This 2008 white 997S came into us completely stock and left with a whole host of track-ready goodies including the SharkWerks light-weight flywheel conversion, EVOMSit software, Tubi Exhaust, and a set of light-weight HRE Competition wheels.

The "classic" before shot as she arrives for surgery:

Up she goes to tackle the transmission and exhaust first:

Out comes the transmission to get access to the factory dual mass flywheel:

The single mass flywheel saves 14 pounds:

A close up of the heavy and quiet factory system before it gets replaced with the Tubi system:

Out comes the factory intake system:

In goes the free-flowing and better-sounding EVOMS V-Flow unit:

The ECU is benchflashed with the EVOMSit software calibrated for 91 octane:

Out comes the rear main center console in preparation for the B&M short shifter kit:

Installed:

The factory wheels before being replaced:

The HRE Competition C-93 wheels in brushed/clear finish:

In the rear:

And a close-up of the brushed/clear finish on the centers:

Ready to leave:

jastx is infamous around these parts
As always, great work. However I have to say moving to C93s from his Carrera Sport wheels doesn't work for me -- they look too similar, like no change at all except in the wallet. But if the customer is happy, it's his car and that's what counts.

nice work, not feeling the rims too much and car looks like it's lifted higher than factory height, set of springs might make it look even nicer.

The big difference with the wheels is the weight savings. Not sure if Alex weighed this particular setup, but he's weighed a number of our builds and typical weight savings is around 3-5 lbs per corner on the front and 6-9 lbs per corner on the rear. This was definitely a customer that wants the performance upgrade and not just looks....although, I think the C93 is beautiful Of course I'm a little partial

Me too... I don't think there's a nicer, stronger and lighter three piece wheel out there. Jewelry yes but functional too. I've weighed these in the past and you do save about 4.5 per front and 7 in the rear on the narrow body... Impressive!

It's factory ride height... at least for now until he figures out his driveway situation Once that's sorted we can get her in for some suspension tweaks:P

It's a subtle change but in person the C93s are something else. I love the motorsport mods here where they mill out the spokes to save weight:

gorgeous !
.. but i am partial, too..
and i agree with the weight savings.
i recently changed from the same Sports Carrera rims above to HRE comp90.. and saved a ton of unsprung weight (close to 40lbs with rim/tire) https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...installed.html
my OEM rims were re-painted, so it prob weighed even more than when it was original, which i believe is close 30 lbs per rear rim..
