2008 C2S - what would you pay ?
Just curious what this statement is based on. Nobody has ever been able to prove that a plenum or exhaust upgrade makes any measurable difference in power. Other than the whole X51 package, high flow cats seem to be the only way to add any power, which is minimal, other than installing a supercharger or turbo.
To the OP -- let's just say that the power gained by intake and exhaust mods is highly controversial, some mods more so than others (e.g., is there anyone out there that believes that a red silicone tube nets you 10hp?).
Re the plenum specifically, it's been beaten to death on this board -- do a search and you can uncover the history (and emotions) and make your own assessment. I think even the most ardent plenum supporters wouldn't say it gives you 30hp.
I decided to add it because I was doing a bunch of other mods at the same time, with the primary purpose of improving sound -- which I did very well. My intuition (nothing more) tells me that the effectiveness of intake/exhaust mods is cumulative, and I wanted to remove any bottlenecks I could, so I was willing to take a shot on the plenum on a leap of faith since I was paying for labor on the other mods anyway and wanted to be done with the mods in one shot.
Bottom line -- I agree with Ken that the cats should definitely be your first mod if you're looking for bolt-on power, but don't expect anywhere near 30hp. If I were in your shoes, I'd hold out for a 997.2.
KonaKai: LOL. I knew I was taking a chance opening up that can of worms. Thanks for keeping it from popping wide open again.
I totally agree with your comments.

I've heard the plenum gets you about ~ 20 hp. I like the sound of the 3.8. I also heard the PASM was updated going from 997.1 to 997.2, is that true ? The PASM felt kinda rough in the 2008.
