gt3tek is supposedly working on a NB edition.. but i am not holding my breath.

I called. They are going to produce it. It's in development and I was told to check back after the first of the year for a date. It'll be a few more months but it's something they're going to produce.

The guy I spoke with sounded very upfront, sincere and professional. Essentially they were sidetracked with a larger product, even though this project was underway. He commented it's near complete and they'll be picking up on it after the first of the year. Sounds all business to me. I think something like this is worth the wait, at least for me.

With all due respect to GT3TEK, my guess is that they realized that the plastic OEM wide-body skirts actually do fit on the narrow-body cars. The only problem is, the narrow-body cars don't have a middle support along the sill to attach these skirts. So the only real design/modification they would have to do is to include a roll of heavy duty double sided tape to compensate for the missing attachment point. However, it's tough to justify a premium for tape, and I believe you can't just make a mold of the existing OEM part and claim it's your own original design.
...That's my theory, anyway. It would be about 800 bucks to test it out, but I'm not inclined to do it. If someone else wants to check it out, please do, and let us know. (Here are the skirts: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...e=997s_aerokit)

so the GT2 sideskirts are a perfect fit for narrowbody cars with the only thing missing being the middle support? Have you done this yourself to confirm? If so, I agree, finding a way to mount it properly wouldn't be too hard.

You would mount them at both wheel wells using screws, and you would apply a strip of double sided tape along the length of the part to fix it to the body of the car. Take a look at this video for the GT3TEK side skirts, as an example:
I imagine the Porsche OEM GT2 side skirts would be installed in a similar fashion, and you would not use the (unavailable) middle mount point at all.
I have not tried this myself, but I think it would work.
