Porsche Announces Voluntary Safety Recall
Porsche Announces Voluntary Safety Recall
ATLANTA, GA, [April 1], 2011 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc., today announced that it will conduct a voluntary safety recall of approximately 20,000 2006, 2007, 2008 and early 2009 Model Year 997 vehicles to modify the heating element in both the driver and passenger seats.* In the event that the car is driven at or above 6,100 RPM while the heated seat switch is set on high, there is a possibility that the heating element may overheat uncontrollably due to the extra electricity generated by the alternator.* If this occurs, both the driver and the passenger will be treated to a set of toasted buns.
*
Owners of the involved 997.1 and 997.2 vehicles will receive a notification by first class mail beginning in early April 2011.
