I like Sonax wheel cleaner. There is nothing better. I use clay bars, Autoglym wax and Griot's speed shine and a myriad of z1 products for the interior. Lastly, I use Porsche convertible top waterproofer for my cabrio.

 

Does anyone have any concerns with using spray-on synthetic waxes such as Turtle Wax Ice for routine washes during the year? It just seems so easy to apply and you don't have to worry about the wax leaving a white residue on black exterior trim.

i personally would pass on the pinnacle kit and klasse products (great products but not-needed IMO) and get the Menzerna polish.. i think its the best polisher.

any high quality wax will be fine.. the type really depends on what look u r looking for. i m currently using pinnacle carruba wax.

1- wash the car
2- clay everything
3- polish using Menzerna polish and flex orbital polisher (since u r trying to get rid of the swirls)
4- wax and buff with hand

if u have the money, get the machine to air dry ur car !

I hope I haven't jumped in too late. There isn't the BEST for everything. As you can see by most of the replies, people prefer many different things. The question is what LOOK do YOU like?

As for polishes, IMHO Menzerna is in a class of its own. The reason is it behaves very well on Porches, we should know since 60% of the cars we detail are Porsches. You only need two polishes, Super Intensive and Super Finish. That's it. The get the GP CCS pads and you'll have a polish/pad combo to tackle anything coming your way.

As for polishers, if you have the means, get the FLEX. It IS the best DA polisher out there.

Waxes, this is up to you. If you want warmth, depth, and clarity, you need to use a carnauba wax. If you want more shine and gloss, you need to use a synthetic. A good carnauba would be P21S 100%, or you can jump into the high-end waxes like zymol Destiny or Vintage. A good synthetic is Sonax Liquid Nano Wax, Zaino, Rejex, etc. But it's important to note, polishing is much more important than the wax. An improper polishing step will only be the poor foundation for a great wax.

Clays, we prefer Lumiere Medium Clay and Lube. This clay is the original clay from japan, one of the finest in the world. It won't marr or scratch the paint like lesser quality clays and it makes quick work of most situations.

one question tho.. i've only been using the super intensive polish by Menzerna (once a year, since i am afraid of burning thru the clear coat )..

how is the super finish different.. and when and how do u use it?

i.e. do u use the intensive polish than the super finish in order.. or do u use it in lieu of one another ?

also, the pads we use with the Flex, can we wash/reuse ? if so, whats the best way to clean them ?

Are you concerned that you can only use the Intensive Polish on very few occasions because of collective abrasion? Is there a set number of times it may be used during the life of the paint?
