997.2 Front grille, stock same as aerokit?
I bough the 997.2 Aerokit front for my car and it came with a black grille, but my old stock grille is silver and I prefer the look, to me they look the same? I can't tell because the new one's installed on the car... Anyone can confirm if they're the same and therefore an easy swap?
Thanks 6speed.

I just recently installed a factory front Aerokit on our 2009 997.2 C4S. The grille inserts ARE NOT the same as the stock C4S pieces. Areokit black grille insert P/N's are:
997-505-985-01-01C
997-505-986-01-01C
From Luke at Sunset Imports they are list-priced at $100.22 ea, my price was $67.77 ea. I had them painted Aluminum Look silver by Eric at Bumper Plugs (reluctantly) for $200, because like you, I favored the silver look of the stock C4S units.
Subsequent to sending them off for paint I visited the 'build your Porsche' page on Porsche.com/USA and to my umm, amusement I stumbled across a Tequipment $750 (!) option for "Front Air Intake Grilles in Aluminum Look" for the new GTS which uses the same front bumper cover as the Aerokit (differant splitter). Again checked with Sunset and they were $495.87 for the pair, P/N 997-044-802-16. Ordered and installed them and they look great. I still have the newly painted set also, equally as beautiful, either for when the factory pair gets beat up from stone chips, or... if you're somewhere in the So Cal area I'd be happy to sell them for cost.
Hope this helps. The Aerokit is a great, albeit subtle upgrade BTW -

Mine were painted with Crystal Silver Metallic (code 8E) from the 2008 Porsche Cayenne S model line. The pieces were first shot with adhesion-promoting primer, color, then 'knocked down' clear for a semi-matte (semi-gloss?) final finish. Even from my OC perspective, they appear virtually identical to Aluminum Look.
