I take my 7 year old boy in my cab, he loves it. He is a tall kid but no problems. A lady at the gym I go to has twin girls she drives around in her turbo, they are around 3 I think. I use to have a stealth which my son could not ride in due to the shape of the rear seats even though it was a bigger car.

Speaking of kids and Porsches, my little boy did NOT like the muffler bypass pipes daddy installed breifly on the 997. You can hear his dislike at the end of the vid. Had to put the Borlas cans back on so he wasnt afraid to ride with daddy.

A little off-topic, but I taught my 15 y/o niece to drive a stick in mine. She loved it. Killed the engine about 50 times, but loved it. She's an addict now and wants a Boxster. My brother and sis-in-law are pissed. They want to get her a Toyota Matrix and I keep telling them a Box is safer........ No back seats (won't be chauffering friends; manual tranny = wont be texting while driving)......

997.2 with 2.5 kids - one in the bun and not intent of getting rid of it. It'll be Dad and 3 kids or Dad and Mum - or someone on the roof, but I'll keep my 911. The Recaro Booster has been repeatedly recommended. That should take care of your 3 year old. For the one year old you would need a forward facing 4 point harnessed seat ideally. IMO the recaro would not do the job very well. I do have one but I can not give you the name currently - my car's out for repairs till middle of next week, but would gladly give you those details subsequently.

I just had twins last week and my neighbors are all betting I will have to get rid of my car now within a year. I would buy another car to drive the kids around if it ever becomes necessary before I sell my 911. I don't see why I would ever need to as we have an SUV also that my wife drives.

am i crazy to think i can handle the two kids in a carrea? forget about weekends which we can always take my wifes car. but just weekdays putting the kids in and out twice a day?? am i crazy??
Hopefully this answers your questions:

My GTS is a daily driver for me, and the only driving I do every day is to take the kids to daycare (I work from home). My kids are 2.5 and 4, and I'm 6'1" (no problems with fit).

Great advice here...

The only reason we had a C2 is because the car seats fit great.

Now that my oldest son is 5'9", he doesn't fit as well in the back. But we do it for short trips.

seats

My 6 and 4 year olds love the "racing car"!

Do a search for seats that will fit. Most regular seats are too wide. I couldn't bring myself to spend $250 on the Porsche booster seats so I took a saw to the cheap-o seats from Target and now they fit like a glove!

Cheers

i took my car seat to the dealer for a fit. we have britax marathon convertible which is prob the biggest car seat. i can barely get it in the car. then i found absolutely no room for their feet or head! i think better fitting car seats will have to be the solution.

My 5 and 9 y/o boys fit just fine and prefer the ride over either the sedan or SUV.

There are only a few lasting memories that we have from such young ages. Riding in the back of Dad's Porsche will be one of the fun memories that your kids will always remember. H

ow do I know? Because it's one of mine.

Get the C2 and pass along the Gene of the Porschephile.

Yes, kids fit great in the back of a 911.

In fact, I was set on getting a Cayman S when the wife noticed (in some internet pix) the lack of rear seats.

"What about the kids?" she asked.

"what about them?" I sarcastically replied.

"Doesn't Porsche make a sports car with back seats?" she asked.

"Why yes they do!" and I was off and running for a Carrera.

Now, my twin 11-year olds take any chance they get to ride in Daddy's car. They particularly like having the engine right behind them. Parked next to a brand-new M3 yesterday, and one of my boys said it was nice, but nothing like Daddy's Carrera.

How tall are you? I'd be more worried about whether YOU will fit in the car with kids and car seats in the back than if the kids will fit.

I'm 6'4 and I can't fit car seats in mine and still have my seat far enough back to drive the car. It's totally undriveable because I'm so far forward. My kids are 3 and 5 and I've tried both configurations, with the booster seat behind me or the toddler seat, and neither way works. My kids have taken a ride in it though when I got stuck at the doctor late and day care was closing and I had to pick them up in my Turbo instead of my normal G550 kid hauler.
