I'm wondering why stripes are so rare on a Porsche. In fact I can't even remember seeing a Porsche with them?? Wondering what they would look like with some "ghost stripes" or something more aggressive.. My first thoughts would be that "they don't work" on the cars. I have no knowledge with Photo Shop so I can't even play around with some pics...
My previous "toy" was a 289 FIA Cobra Roadster Kit car that begged stripes and looked great with them.
Just curious...

I seem to recall that one of the special models (perhaps the Dutch one) had very attractive faint gray stripes. I hope that someone with a better memory will recall more than I do and post a link or a better description that will lead to a link.

 

I did a bit of research and came up with the name of the special model with stripes: Sport Classic.

 

Love those martini stripes.

 

Gotta tell you that it looks pretty good. Beautiful car.. What did he do to the "S" to reflect light like that???
Jealous of the polish and wax on that car..

 

I would guess,JUST like a vinyl wrap BUT more on the reflective sign material!

I would love to see more pics of that car!

I don't know, this is just my opinion but stripes on a Porsche is about as useless as:

 

WOW! those martini stripes have ROCKED my world. i think it looks even better than a vantage v8, which before i thought was the most beautiful car that money can buy. those strips complete the 911. its now on my to do list on my future 991. thanks for the post. it practically changed my life.

 

 

Stripes are nice, but how about something like this...matte black, only noticeable at certain angles...

That white turbo looks like it got ran over by a monster truck lol, some cars work well with the stripes, Porsche's isn't one of them. IMO

 

The white turbo is ruined by those black stripes, IMO. Looks really cheap, to me.
