Just got my new Durametric cable.....
Folks,
I received the Enthusiast version of the Durametric cable a few days ago, and started playing with the software. I downloaded and installed the version 6, as it has apparently many more features than the version 5. It also has plenty of bugs and crashes or locks quite frequently.
I was playing with the Faults and activations mostly.
As I was expecting (from the various threads on this forum and others), my front control unit is fried and needs to be replaced (code C127 + C140).
I was also playing with the various activation capabilities. My laptop was sitting on the roof of the car, and I decided to activate the wipers and the lights. It is all kind of cool that most functions on the car can be controlled from the software. I tried the cooling fans, the rear lid, all the lights, until I got to the Headlight washers..... I ended up with a good soaking of water and alcohol mixed together....LOL.
For certain, once dry, I could appreciate that software and its capabilities. I still have a lot of functions to explore, but overall, I am quite pleased with the package. Durametric could make an effort to present the results in a more graphical way (for instance, when playing with tire pressures and temperatures, they could draw a car and provide the data next to each wheel, instead of that long table that is quite cryptic).
For the price, it is a very good attempt at mimicking a PIWIS system, and Durametric should be encouraged to make their software even better, and more resilient.
