Service Advice

I purchased my CPO'ed 05 997 C2S a month ago with 9500 miles. Service records indicate last oil change Oct. 27 2010. I have looked over all service history and apparently the plugs and brake fluid has not been changed. I assume they are same as when the car was new six years ago. Would it be a good idea to have them changed. Anything else I should think about? How often should i change the oil? It did have a new battery installed last summer. Advice will be appreciated.

My advice is to get that thing out and put some miles on it! It's begging for it. I would consider changing the brake fluid, but the plugs should be fine. Brake fluid is in a closed system, but if it sits too long it collects moisture. Just my $.02.

Oh I plan to drive it. Already put 1600 miles on it. Previous owner was a dentist who I was told thought it was too nice to drive (garage queen).

My advice.....oil change every year and brake fluid change every two years. This fall get both done. You may be ready for new plugs and belt.

Accessory/serpentine belt.... you do not have that many miles but the car is ~6 years old? Perhaps have the belt and pulleys inspected at least.

I change the oil every 5K miles or 1 year (whichever comes first) .
Plugs will get done at 15K on my modded Turbo and probably 20K on my 997S (car is also modded and Florida temps are hot and humid) --OR 5 years (whichever comes first) .
Brake fluids and assorted filters get cleaned every two years .
At 9500 --rear tires might be needed soon .

Concur with yrralis1 on tires; also, if you have OEM Bridgestone Potenzas, check fronts for dry rot or similar detrioration.

Same boat here. Got my 06 a year ago with 8900 miles. Original owner did one oil change and no other service as he never drove it. I've got a great, fair indy guy where I live. He recs oil change every year (b/c of condensation) and its cheap/easy. I bought spark plugs online for 50 bucks. He did brake flush (he recs every 2 years) and spark plugs all for $300 bucks labor. He does sparkies by time or miles. If your CPO you might have to stick to the manual's recs to keep your warranty but you should be able to get the work done anywhere (indy or dealer) as long as you document it.
