Used C2S or New C2
Used C2S or New C2
Hi -
With $80-90K to spend, what does everyone recommend? Both would have PDK and SC so, I think, the performance difference isn't that great - maybe I'm wrong?
Any ideas are most welcome!

I dont know why anyone buys new Porsches. They depreciate too fast to make the new car experience worth it. I would go for a used C2S. I have found the majority of Porsche owners baby their cars. Its not hard to find a "like new" used C2S.

Even while babying a car, we're talking about a 3300 lb vehicle traveling down the road (a road with rocks in it, all kinds of flotsam, rain, snow, and other cars) at 60 to 80 mph on average. If a car has been driven on the street for any length of time, there is no such thing as perfect. For 90g you deserve brand new.
But a leftover. I am sure you can find a new 2010 as the 2012s are about to arrive in a few months. In that case you might get something closer to $20k off rather than something like $7K off of a new car. Initial depreciation is then reduced significantly.
Buy new when you can. The only people that really get a good deal on the used ones are the dealers, who make out like bandits on both ends of the trade.

exactly.
For significantly less than your budget, I recently got a 2009 C2S that was loaded (MSRP $107k) and would be hard to tell from new. And it was a private party sale, so I saved a bunch by not having sales tax to deal with.
So, that's what I'd do. Find a nice pre-owned C2S and put the leftover funds in the retirement account.

I agree on buying used. For that budget, you can get some great cars with extremely low miles and avoid the big depreciation hit. Jason said it best about buying a used GT3 for that money. I traded out of my C4S to the GT3 and did not take a big hit on the C4S because I bought it used.
New is new !!! I realize that even one mile turns a new car into a used car but I won't pay 90K to buy a car that someone else sneezed in .
At this price level it means buying a new S and calling it a day . 90K os very close to a new S with modest options .

I wish you guys could've seen, in person, the perfection that I received with my 2006. Only one very small chip on the front. Even original wipers as it never saw rain. Paid 59K for 2006 C2S w/ only 11K miles. Private sale though...
New C2S for $90K. Followed by used C2S. $90k will get you a 2010 leftover or maybe a 2011. I think the extra power and all the rest that come with the C2S are worth it and very noticeable. As soon as you drive any new car off the lot it's no longer new anyways.
No PDK in this one, but without a doubt would be my first choice! Second would be a used one, you will save a bunch on money which could clean out hundreds of sneezes and buy you a set of nice wheels or other mods that you might want.
