To Buy or Not to Buy?
Thinking of purchasing a 2008 C4S Cab with 42,000 miles in excellent cond. It has HRE P40's and TechArt Exhaust system. The owner is asking $64,000. Any input is appreciated!

standard input...
PPI a must...high miles means little warranty time left...mods offer little value
price seems on high side for the number of miles...and I'm usually not one to devalue our cars....check NADA for some pricing info...
good luck

Pre purchase inspection.
You take it to a reputable shop or dealer and have it inspected. Checks for unseen damage, engine issues etc.
Cost around $200 or so. Also need to have over rev scan. Lots of threads here about it.

The owner is asking at least 9K too much. Keep track of this car. In a few mos when it doesn't sell, give the owner a call back. Negotiate a price contingent on PPI. Good luck.

You've got to be kidding? 9k over the retail price with the miles for 2008? The seller is a well known dealer. I feel like I'm being jurked around! I need to seriously re-think this thing. It's hard to believe the dealer would try to take you for that much money these days! Thanks so much for the advice.

42K miles ?
The seller's asking price hints at profit delusions of grandeur (in my opiinion ) .
Get a car with lower miles . less options, newer etc .
I wouldn't buy a car with 42K miles .. Period !!!
As soon as it crosses 50K miles the depreciation goes Timberrrrrrrr!!!!!!
and it won't matter if it has CPO . You won't sell it , can't trade it (because CPO win't be retained if sold to a dealership) , and basically would be stuck !!!!!

Run Jo Run! wait keep looking for 64k you will definitely find a better deal and when they call you back tell them no again.
I bought my '07 4s cab with 11k miles for $63 a few months ago. Even though you're looking at an '08, I think that price is high. 9k high? I don't know about that, but certainly that car shouldn't be more than the high $50's. This is still a buyer's market, even with p-cars, so I'd advise you to keep looking.
