Was SAT radio ever a factory option in 997.1?

Or did it come in '09 with the refresh? I know that there are aftermarket options, just wondering if any of the '08's that I see for sale with SAT were done after the fact.

Thanks!

No, it was never an option on the 997.1 pre 2009.

Apparently on some 2009 models that only got a partial upgrade for 2009 (ie they didn't see a major revamp) it was an option. Its really tied to which version of the PCM you have.

PCM3 gives you that option, PCM2 did not. I'm guessing the 2009 Turbo 997.1 came with PCM3.

I have an aftermarket Sirius unit mounted next to my radio. It transmits on FM but the sound quality is as good as a hardwired system.

I went with NavTV solution... it is ok. Sometimes it doesn't register with the system, and location of the antenna will make a difference in reception.
