There's a butt for every seat! Like I said, many people prefer the LED look. I think the old style lights look better. It's nice to have choices.

Red lights look great! Much better than normal red/clear lights.

Thanks!

I think it all comes down to preference. I don't mind the original lights at all either. I think the LED units are nice, especially the Depo/Dectane units. They just weren't right for me.

I did see a new LED option for the 997 in another thread from an Australian company. It looks more like a 991 tail light, which is interesting.

Here it is. The light itself doesn't look that much like the 991 light, but it does have the continuous red LED ring like modern Porsches and Audis. Not sure if it's legal in the US.

^^ they look ok if the light pattern look like DEPO or Dectane instead of 1 bar across for each function.

Don't see how they look like the 991's at all. I prefer the dectane ones but perhaps a video of them working would make it easier to understand how they work.

The only thing that really looks 991ish is th solid LED light outlining the tail light as opposed to the individual LED segments.

Just noticed that the time frame between page 57 and 58 is 3 years! I'm interested in the Dectanes/ Depo's but is the cause of the failures addressed and resolved?

I switch from DEPO to this in smoke version for half the price of what they're selling. Zero issues as well.

I went with Depo/Dectanes. Arrived all together and ready plug and play. No fog bulb to add or resistor boxes to connect. The resistor boxes were installed and mounted to the lamps.

Quality is very good. The lenses look great. The only area you can tell it's not quite OEM quality is from the back side. What a difference in aesthetics and brightness.
