I installed my dectane lights recently and believe there are two resistor packs for each corner (one is a pig tail that I had to plug in and the other was already screwed onto the taillight itself). I actually unscrewed it and mounted both (via doublesided tape) to the car hoping that it helps dissipate the heat. No idea if that helps/helped but mine is still working ok for now

If I need another set of resistors, please advise what they are. Only 1 of my lights is having this problem. Drivers side.
hi, i also have the problem with my depo lights which i have got from ebay from same guy (fish @ speedstersource.com). he got my rigt ones replaced once. now left one is giving the same problem.

Left tail flash for 1 sec and out. i tried with and without the resistors, and also exchanged the resistors... no luck.

any help is much appreciated.

Does the seller "Fish" on Ebay include the additional resistors? Seems like most vendors include the additonal set that plug in (in addition to the one's mounted to the lights). It's possible the one's sold on Ebay are 2nds (see post #778 in this forum). It's either the resistors or the board that is bad, most likely the resistors.. I experimented with LED's in the factory tail lights and had the "flash -then out" happen when not using the correct draw of resistor. I'd look into getting the additional resistor packs and/or reach out to where you bought them from....spending this much on something defective isn't acceptable!

so, i've actually read this entire thread and come to the conclusion that my best bet is to try to find the cheapest supplier possible and hope for the best. what's the cheapest way for a canadian to get a non-smoked LED tail-light set? I don't even care if its depo/dectane or rottec.

Question

orange tuning quoted me 395,00 Euro excl. VAT + 35,00 Euro. Which works out to roughly ~$600CDN shipped.

RotTec is apparently $850. https://rotteccarbon.com/parts/x7001...e=sbm&sel=true

Is $600 the cheapest i'm going to find these?

If you have a problem would you rather deal with a vendor in Germany or one in Canada? Call Rottec.

you're right, i don't care either way about the brand. But if its over $250 cheaper and the product and yet the product is supposedly better, it makes the decision harder. I think maxspeed might be the best solution if they have the product in stock.

If anyone is interested I'm going to be selling my Depo's which I bought from FVD only a few weeks ago. They come with the extra resistors and are a '13 production run which I was told had the updated circuit board. The company will back the product too as the owner personally called me about the updates...I'm only selling as I decided to do both a front and rear 997.2 full bumper conversion. The front is shaping up nicely!
