What Oil Temps do you see on the track?

Just spent my second day at VIR in my new ride. 2009 997.2 C4S PDK. Starting to get hot (ambient temp was mid 90s). Was seeing oil temps moving towards 275 deg. In my previous 997.1 C4 the hottest I saw was just over 250, but that was in July temps of over 105 deg.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Running in advanced run group and pushing car reasonably hard but this seems too hot for oil temps. Water temp stays pegged at 175 right in the middle.

Thanks in advance.

I saw 250F at Mid-Ohio last month with ambient temps in the mid 60's. The water temp gauge stayed at 175F.

The water temp will stay at 175F until the water really gets hot. Then it will start to climb.

I added a center radiator to see if the extra cooling capacity might help. I'll be at Mid-Ohio again the first weekend in June. Hopefully it will help.

seems crazy to me that these cars have a dummy temp gauge.

I see 250 to a safe over probably 275. No big deal. The water temp gauge is a dummy gauge and will not go past 175. Plug into a dme reader and goyim see the water temp up to 200 or so easy

Aren't the new engines direct injected? I think that's why you run a little hotter oil temper.

From what I've read, the 997.2's have an electric oil pump that varies the oil pressure based on load, engine RPM and other mapped parameters. This is why the .2 oil pressure gauges act so much differently than the .1's.

My 997.2 C2 seems to run cooler oil temps than my .1. I did see 240 at the track a few weeks ago, but my .1 would always reach 250 to as high as 275 depending on how hard it was driven and the external temp.

I'm unsure about DFI impacting oil temps.
