A must have interior Option
Agreed that it looks great (in red or yellow) and is a MUST option. But I wasn't aware that it's yet available - maybe for 06?
Take a closer look and you can see that the shifter and handbrake are not "deviated." This is typical Porsche. On 996s, you had to order as many as 4 options to get ALL stitching deviated. Why can't Porsche do what Ferrari does and make just one option for all stitching?

thanks for reminding me jamie
hehehyep, porsche is really stupid with these options.
they NEED to consolidate these things into one option, i dont care if it costs twice as much as it does now, but for fxxx sake, who the hell DOESNT order all of them (or at least intentionally doesnt order all of them).
ferrari has 1 option. so do bentley, maser, aston, etc.
porsche's option list is just rediculous, they will probably tell you its so that 'every car can be unique'
its rediculous you need to be able to read their minds in order to order a car that looks like all the parts match.

I tried to order deviated stitching on the 05 Boxster I ordered and I couldn't get it done. I had my dealer call to confirm that it was not available and then I called Porsche's Customer Satisfaction department myself, etc...It was a royal pain in the ***.
I figured I have bought more than 10 new Porsches in the last 10 years (including a C-GT and 4 Turbos, several 911s, Cayenne S, Boxsters, etc) and I couldn't get the courtesy of a simple phone call back from anyone in Atlanta. I got the total run around... I was told over and over there was no one there that knew anything about options and that I had to work through my dealer. I even had the woman receptionist in Atlanta get mad and hang up on me when I kept asking for someone "higher up". It was unbelievable..you'd think I was calling the President of the US.
It caused me to pause and think long and hard about even ordering the Boxster. In the end, I decided Porsche would never miss my order and all I would do would be punishing myself. (My dealer was great by the way - they made several attempts for me, including finally talking to the guy in charge of all custom services)
bottom line, as I understand it there is no deviated stitching available. (except maybe on the Turbo?)
I've warned my dealer I am going to be hot when they offer it on 06 models...<gr>

You can guarantee it will be available in '06. I saw the same pictures on Rennteam and apparently it's already available in Europe.

PCNA has gone through a tremendous changeover in personnel in the past few years, and FOR NO REASON. NOTHING EVER CHANGES.
Dealers don't know much about the available options until we post it here, Customer Commitment can't make commitments, and no one really seems to care anymore.
Still, we buy the cars.

Chuck, email me. eric@bumperplugs.com
I may know someone who can help you.
