Which end goes first?

I've had my 997.1 C2 for a couple of months now and really enjoy its cornering prowess. For the past 20 years I've driven mostly FWD cars and its been awhile since I've had a RWD and those had large V8s sitting over the front wheels. Compared to these cars the frontend on the P-car seems very light, so with regular road conditions is oversteer still the predominant problem with or without PSM. Has anyone had the frontend wash out with semi-aggressive driving or are these things pretty much glued to the road.

I would keep the PSM on if you are not used to the rear engine car. I had my turbo rear end went out on me once and it was scary to say at least.

Thanks for the advice. I use to have sportbikes and I've had the rear wheel slide out, some times intentionally and a few times not. The latter can be particularly scary, but fortunately I never ended up in the weeds.

I would say take your time and learn the car's behavior before you really push it in the turns. Have fun and stay safe

With PSM, just let off the gas and the car will straighten itself out. I will offer throw the back end out to practice car control.

I've had several 911's with any electronic handling features and have done a few unintended end swaps. On my 996TT I leave the PSM on most of the time. I feel it kick in during spirited driving (it's a weird feeling to have just have brakes applied to just one wheel) but i'm sure it has saved me from some "keep your foot in, use negative lock, and pray for the best outcome" a few times.
