Count me in the group that loves the Sport Classic.

Of all the modern 911s - it looks the best IMO.

The jury is out for me on this car. It is unique, but not sure if it would be for me, regardless of it being a rare car.

I love the SC, but on the fence with the ducktail and the Fuchs wheels (I know, 2 of the most distinguishable features of this car).

As for the Ducktail: I get the retro perspective of it, that version of spoiler looked great on those older models, but doesn't exactly integrate into the modern 997 as well. If you think about it, that ducktail was probably the limit of manufacturing technology of the time, providing similar downforce to the automatic rear decklid we have today. While it looks ok on the SC, I'd love to see a SC with the standard rear decklid instead of the ducktail.

The Fuchs/Sports Classic wheels: Again, they look good, but don't seem to fit with the more modern design of the 997. As with the Speedster, Porsche could have selected/created a different style of wheel for those cars. The old GT2 wheels or Boxster Spyder/GT3 look would also work real well: black with silver outline.

Here are the Fuch's on my 3.2 for comparison.

I thought you could import and get a special registration if the car was just used for exhibits, etc.

Quote: yeah, you don't see a lot of european cars here b/c of our strict crash test requirements, so I agree with you that it might not be emissions related.
It's the roof versus the cost of re-doing the crash test for a limited car. It could come, but a crash test runs in the 7 digits, not financially interesting for a limited edition....
