360 Forged Wheels
First, I think this is one of the best websites I have seen...
http://www.360forged.com/
Second, does anyone know how good 360 Forged reputation is now adays? I know a few years back it was very sketchy and people had issues with their orders. I think I have read somewhere that it is now under new management.

They had a very bad history a few years ago which caused their company name banned from vendorship in most of the automotive forums even till now.
There were two major issues back then that gave them the bad name:
1. Customers found out they were essentially marketing company that custom order rims from a major manufacture from the state and resell them for an outrageous premium. The issue was especially apparent when some of the wheels are exactly the same between the manufacturing company and 360forge and customers complained that they were essentially paying double the price for the wheel cap.
2. The collective banning of this company by most of automotive forums was result from one of the company owner decided to take the customers` order money and ran away. There were thousands of orders that was never fulfilled that ended up into a class lawsuit. The owner later sold the remaining share to his partner hence the current management but i personally wouldnt trust them anymore.
Also take note that after the incident, the previous owner (the owner that took customers money and ran away) has come back and start a new company called ADV.1

ethics?????? WOW

That's also one of the reason adv.1 rims are not allowed to be advertised in some of the major forums. The only forum i see currently that still allow both adv- and 360forged to be active is teamspeed
Thank you for that info. I remember reading horror stories on MBworld.org a few years back.
This is one of the problems with forged wheel manufacturers and resellers, some products are just overpriced beyond belief.
Does anyone know of a good company with a fair price point on custom forged wheels?
Makes me think that I should just go with BBS CH-R and get it over with...

2. I honestly don't know how they stay in business, someone is paying for these outrageous prices and obviously happy with them.

Tbh there are only so few of 3 pieces wheel brands that really make their own barrel, the rest almost all sourced their barrels from taiwan. Not that theres any problem on barrels from taiwan, its just that some of the wheels you see are so heavy then ridiculously priced you wonder why people dont just buy from older brands like bbs that comes with rich history that you can rely on.

What do you think of iForged since you have them? Quality and price point?
1. This is true for a lot of forged companies out there, there are a few that forged their own wheels, the rest just design them for these companies to make and some double or triple the price. Honestly I personally would never pay 7-9K for wheels, it doesn't give you 7-9K worth of value. JMHO.

the 360forged story isn't exactly unique. As previously stated, many of these wheel "manufacturers" simply design the wheel, take orders and then have someone make the wheel while you wait. Personally, I'd rather deal with an established manufacturer such as HRE, BBS or Volk. At least you know they made the wheel so if you have a problem in the future, there is some recourse or you can buy another wheel if necessary. Also, a wheel like HRE has good resaleability once you decide to sell them. JMHO
BBS CHR and OZ HLT (ultraleggera) series wheels are examples of a flow formed wheel.

Not sure about iforged but many wheel companies are using the word "forged" in the name of their company or wheels but are NOT using a true forging process. They are using a "form flow" technique which is essentially casting a wheel then heating it up under pressure to give it properties similar to forging. In many cases, the company will claim that it is a "forged" wheel. I'm not saying that this results in an inferior product to a "forged" wheel, but it is certainly cheaper, and IMO, if you are paying a "forged price", you should get a forged product.

The Forgestars come to mind, many mistake the wheels for 1 piece forged but they are truly cast - flow formed wheels. It can get confusing. Nonetheless they make an amazing, lightweight, strong product at an even more amazing price point!
. They all are good quality b/c they all came from the same place, just named differently. Up until recently another wheel company was the same (not going to name the company). But the last few years, they made enough money to forged their own wheels.
The horror stories about 360 is what made it easy for me to go with HRE when I was looking at wheels for my car. HRE is a known product. I place my order for my HRE's on a Thursday and had them mounted and I was rolling down the road less then a week later. Absolutely perfect fit. No headache's, no problems.
imo the flow cast technology is a great option for consumers; brands like forgestar are the brand that should be praised though they might perhaps have a misleading name. I personally wouldn't hestitate to buy from them because the price is resonable enough for flow cast wheels!
