Get the AMV8, and park it infront of Starbucks on Robson/Thurlow, and wait to see the reactions

I think Ben's reaction was to the individual who stated he can get ANY Ford at invoice. You can't buy a GT, drive it a while and make a profit if you're not already on the list to get one at MSRP.

My issue is that if you're looking at getting a car in 2 years, then why not get a slightly used DB9? It will probably cost close to what a new AMV8 will be.

cool. time to pick up a Ford GT and double your money :-)
u know what, they probably have some clause that would not allow me to buy specialty cars. But i know I went to the website of our company and they had AMs listed.

I know this person in our department is getting a mustang GT but that's no fun. lol

From what I've seen you are going to get the Ford/Jag 390hp V8 that you can buy in a Ford Mustang in a 120K car. Aesthetically, I like it, but realistically I doubt it will offer the same visceral experience as the Porsche. Good luck to them though, competition is always good. I do think the money has to match the car and doubt the Aston will be that good.
I did the value comparison in my search for a new car. I did research for a year before ordering.

The DB9 was about 15K more than comparable TT. I feel I almost twice the car for what I paid.

If the Vantage V8 is the same value, then you won’t be disappointed.

As far as driving experience, it is every bit as good as the Porsche only different. This is hard to put into words so you’ll just have to drive and compare.

I like the 911s very much and vacillated for a long time over which car. My wife’s liking of the AM is what made the final decision.

Good luck.

No..the engine on the amv8 is 'based' on the jag 3.8 litre,it is substantially reworked and ends up nothing like the jag V8.,many of the parts are bespoke to AM.

BY the same logic applied ,the 911 is no more than a souped up VW beatle.
