I am giving up my lease in less then two years and i am interested in either a 911s or a amv8.
Honestly i would say the amv8 is a much better looking car then the 911 though the 911 is beautiful in its own right.
Aston marton will have a much more exclusive ownership but i dont like the fact it only seats two my boxster is somtimes a real party pooper on weekends.
Porsche will be a somewhat older model since by then the model will be around 3 years old and since i plan to keep this car for about 5 years i dont want it to be dated during its last couple of years. though even the 996 isnt too bad too look at the aston martin will still look fresh after 5 years for sure.
im having a hard time making up my mind...if i plan on getting the 911 i proboly will put a lip and some rims on it with a nice spoiler.
I love porsche and the dealership i go through is really treating me and my car good so that in itself is kinda making me lean toward porsche ownership..
what do you guys think?

From the price range, I think the 997TT would be closer to the price range of the AMV8 (from early estimates of the price). In a couple years the 997TT should be out. Maybe consider this as an option?
The new Astons look amazing (I guess I am slightly biased). The Aston would probably be more exclusive too.
Ok, my decision would be either the 997TT or the AMV8. The 997TT probably being much faster. Picking between the two would be based on if it is a daily driver or not.

how reliable is Aston Martin?
i just found out i can get all Ford Motor Corp. cars at invoice including Aston Martin. Too bad, it's more than I can afford anytime soon.

I agree with Kunal. I think the 997tt is a better comparable. In which case, I'd take the tt. But a regular S? Not sure. From an engineering perspective, I'd take the Porsche. S or not. Something about Ford Motor Co. tickles me the wrong way. From an exotic looks perspective, the Aston. Just my .02
I guess I would take the AM.
Even if the Porsche is a better car.
Not as many around.
Nice to be different.
Besides I have owned a few Porsches and no AMs yet.
now thats logic for ya!

true but stil i was just wondering i might even just go with the new convertible m3. Though i think its gonna be hard going back to BMW after a porsche.

The AMV8 is sold out for 5 years here in the uk.Current traders reckon on premiums of £20,000 ($36,000) on year 1 production cars.
ITs priced at £80,000 but spec a 997s to a simialr level and its c. £74,000 here in the uk.
IT is designed to compete with the 997S,more powerful versions in a few years are lined up to copmpete witht the tt.
I got one on order,MAy 2006 with some luck.

From what I've seen you are going to get the Ford/Jag 390hp V8 that you can buy in a Ford Mustang in a 120K car. Aesthetically, I like it, but realistically I doubt it will offer the same visceral experience as the Porsche. Good luck to them though, competition is always good. I do think the money has to match the car and doubt the Aston will be that good.

Yeah that price is comical. It was originally conceived as a lightweight, 911 fighter. Now it is 3600 lbs. & $120,000. If the cars were around the same price (under $100,000) I would probably go for the AM, but $120K is getting into 997 TT territory. I would get the 997 TT in that case, or the 997S if I had $90K.
I always liked Aston Martin but, somehow, I can't see myself living with one day to day. It looks great and I'm sure that it's beautiful to drive, it's just that I think that they priced it too high. At this price, I'd rather be in a turbo.
