when i drive my car pretty hard i seem tro notice a burning smell coming from my car when i open my window.


on further notice when i open my door and inspect it seems my left rear tire well is smoking fumes and smelling really funky. I wonder why is it only m y left rear well i never noticed it beofre when i drove hard but now it seems to do this any one have any idea what it is?

 

You may have a small oil leak from the valve cover on to the exhaust manifold.

 

It's the substance that Porsche use to cover the underside of the engine and gearbox. When it gets hot it can smell like a burning clutch or tire. If that's the case it's perfectly normal and shows you are using the car properly.

In any case check the car for oil leaks around the cam covers and also look at the ground under your car where you've parked it to see if there are any leaks.
If there's no sign of a leak it was probably hot Cosmoline.
