Which Airbox

Hi All,

I know this has been discussed many times over and i have searched the forums and done my research and narrow down to these few:-

1. Carbonio
2. Gruppe M
3. X-51
4. Werks Champion Motorsport

I know most people like Fabspeed or EVOMS, but i somehow do not like the open-pod concept as i believe it will somewhat to an extent suck in the hot air from the engine.

I am currently driving a 2007 997.1 C2S Cabrio and have resisted the urge to mod until now. Also i want to add a new spoiler and hence need to change the airbox to retrofit the TT spoiler.

Your thoughts would be most appreciated.

Cheers, Peter

I like/am using the X51. I don't like open intakes either and don't believe that they don't suck in hot air. I went with X51 because it's OEM and has double air filter elements. Looks the best and gets more air in. My second choice is the Werks 1 Intake.
Just look at how good this intake looks.

I totally agree the X51 looks absolutely amazing. However, i have never seen pictures of Werks 1 Intake installed in a car before. I would definitely like to see how that looks. Does anyone have a picture to share? That would be most appreciated.

If that's the concern, why don't you buy the EVOM and seal the filter box yourself? Would be easy.

I think the X51 and Werks boxes are beautiful, and to each his own, but IMO to spend that kind of $$ of a mod that gives little if any performance gains on its own and is not even visible most of the time is not a good first mod.
