How do you launch fast and effectively on a 6speed man shift?
2. Left hand out of wallet.
3. Sign credit card slip for new clutch.
This question is closely related to my question about shift point from 1st to 2nd in my thread about shifting technique.
I agree with others that the 911 with 6MT isn't a good drag racer from a stop. My C63 in sport mode is much superior.
But, after much trial and error (lots of error
), I've found that launches can be much improved by very careful engagement of the clutch, particularly at the point where it just begins to grab. Previously, I was overeager about this, so my shifts were ugly and I was net slower. By being just a bit more patient with the engagement, the whole process is working much better, and I can maintain fairly high revs (I'm still breaking in my car, so not going too high yet).
Hope this helps.

Have you seen the cost to break down a 7DT-45 PDK transmission and replace the ZF Sachs ND2015 clutch pack? He better start saving pennies because it doesn't last forever.
