Tires

Hey Guys just had a question I'm new to the forum and looking for some new tires for my 997s....Just wanted to know where I would be able to get a good deal....

I'm looking for the following sizes:

245/35/ZR20

305/30/ZR20

Your feedback would be appreciated...

Why are you running those size for 20"s? The proper size should be 245/30/ZR20
305/25/ZR20, that will keep the diameter closer to factory size. Tirerack is your best source.

I was going to go up to a bigger side wall just to rid some of the tire noise...I saw that hook up on another 997s....You guys got any suggestions for brands...Pirelli or Bridgestone...The car is my daily driver.....I don't track it....A bit of canyon carving on the weekends...Your input would be appreciated...

IMHO, right now, the Michelin Supersport is the way to go. I have the C4S size on my car right now (305) rears on 19".
So far, I am very happy with the choice. Civilized, quiet, responsive, good ride, awesome grip and a low price. What else is there??

Check out TireRack's latest test on max performance tires. Their results are similar to what I have heard and experienced. They do a nice comparo against the new SO-4, Conti, and Pirelli P-Zero!

I second Michelin. I have had PS2, Rosso, T1S and Michelin would be best in all areas. Just don't go for the econ tires if all possible.

+1 on Michelin Super Sports. Good feedback out there on these. I will be putting them on mine when the time comes.

That works...I'll go for the Michelins...Do we just call TireRack or is there a someone on this forum that represents them that we can call...Hopefully he gives a discount to...

Ditto - removed Pirelli's replaced with MSS...but I don't think you'll find them in the sizes you want.

Yes, but I can't remember his username off hand. Give me a minute to search. Be back.

Damon@tirerack.com is the username I was trying to remember. Now I can't recall whether he's a board sponsor here or on Rennlist, but just drop him a note. Good man.

Gary thanks for the info....Hey I live in San Fran...So It's mostly HWY driving and more straight Road...I only work 6 months out of the year so the Car doesn't rack up many miles...I read a review on Tire Rack and I think I'm gonna go for the Continentals as the Review says there best at keeping road noise low....What do you guys think...I'm not big on tracking aside from hitting the occassional 35 turn at 65....Your input is well appreciated...I also decided to switch to 245/30/20 and 295/25/20...btw anyone interesed in a Fabspeed Catback thats brand new in the box...a gift from my fiance who didn't know I had the same system on my car...
