Shift Knob Removal Question
Yup, I did exactly like your DIY. Disconnect the boot tabs, twisted the boot 90 degrees clockwise until I can't turn anymore, and I did feel the click. Actually, you can just turn the collar **** clockwise, and it does the same thing. Stuck like flies to sh*t, this ****. Will try again this weekend.
if u start tonight u might b done by thursday, instead of waiting for the weekend
LOL
LOL....now I know why you get gas from NorthVan and Justatoy
. j/k.
Ok guys, thanks for all your tips and guidance. With my luck, if I start tonight, it may take me till the weekend to remove it

Careful .... I tore my boot from the **** trying to remove it
A few months ago, I decided to install the OEM SSK and a new sand beige shift **** (the previous owner of my car must have driven with dirty hands -- the **** was filthy). I could not remove the shift **** when the old shifter was installed. I thought it might be easier to remove the **** after I removed the old shifter. So, after uninstalling the old shifter and ****, I grabbed the **** with one hand and braced everything else with another and pulled as hard as I could...and you know what happened next
