Concours on the Avenue - Carmel 8-16-11

The 'Concours on the Avenue' took place today in Carmel, CA, as part of the Monterey Car Week. This is a very interesting event taking place all day in a large section of downtown Carmel centered around Ocean Avenue.

Many marques are represented, but the bulk of presentations were Porsche, Jaguar, and Ferrari.

Many great cars and great restorations. Here are some photos:

Here is a LINK to more Concours on the Avenue photos.

Now that the 991 is out, it is even more important to restore the soul of the 911, lost in its last iteration.

Thanks for sharing!

That Viper (or 'Conda) Green RS Carrera looks amazing. I wish I'd had the cash, instead of just the desire, to buy one when $75k bought a perfect car.

That '73 was rotisserie-restored by Jerry Woods Enterprises and its restoration cost I'm told was north of $100k. The car was finished this last Sunday and it looks factory-new.

Thanks for posting these and thanks for the link. This car is stunning and that light ivory early 911 in the link looks exactly like my 2.2 S (which had the incorrect, but very cool, '72/'73 front spoiler...AND unlike the car it in the picture, the through the horn grill driving lights).

My current 997 is superior in basically every way, compared to a '70 S, but it would be nice to have both.

Bad week for me to be out of town!
