the battery in my key is about shot, when I put in new will it hace to be reporgrammed .

Darned if I know. But it should not. The codes should be stored in non-volatile memory like an EEPROM but incorporated with the single chip. Just don't take an hour to put in the new battery when you remove the old one.

Are you asking if it will have to be reprogrammed for the car to recognize it? If this is what you are asking the answer is no. If you are asking if you will need to reprogram your seat position, then I am almost a 100% certain the answer is no as well.
I've actually switched my 997.1 key for a 997.2 key and have never had an issue with the key not working.

i just replaced the battery in my key, and nothing had to be reprogrammed.
