Frank does not answer quick unfortunately. I have the exact same issue and he wants to send me a new resistor pack and I'm 100% sure the problem is not the resistor but the tail light itself since I have switched both resistors and same problem occurs (left tail light running lights go off after 1 to 5 minutes).

Yea I switched my resistors and still have the same issue.
I don't care if I get a new light or not.
If a new resistor will (permanently) fix the issue then I'm fine with that.
My concern is that there is something internally in the left light that Orange Tuning made that isnt communicately properly with PCM.
Maybe it takes some time to burn up a resistor pack and he is trying to buy time to get out of the 1 year warranty period and not have to send me a new light.

Avoid Frank @ Orange Tuning!!

I got a full refund from Amex because Frank at Orange jerked me around for 8 months after sending me a light which was missing 8 diodes out of the box. He kept promising to send me a new light but it was always "on back order". I was really patient (8 mos!) of sending him requests mostly with no responses. I eventually wizened up and had a buddy contact him to pretend to be interested in buying a set of lights and he said he had plenty in stock...lying bas tard. Sent that off to Amex and got my full refund.

I bought another set of the Depo's from Fish123@speedstersource.com
Great response time, similar price, and LOCAL to USA!! (BUY USA!!)

That guy (Frank) is unbelievable. Totally unprofessional...
I have the same problem as the folks above (right running tail light not working after a while) and he hasn't replied to a single email (I've sent him 5 till now). I also contacted Dectane and they said I must talk to my dealer directly (Orange Tuning)...
The problem is that I made the purchase by credit card (in May 2012), not through paypal. Is there a way to claim my money or get a replacement?

Amex is really good - visa not as good. You need to send all your support and evidence to their claims department. May 2012 was a bit long ago but if you can say or show that Frank was stringing you along like he did with me then you might get lucky. I got a full refund from Amex and went and bought a new set from another vendor (see previous post). I have two sets now. The new and the faulty. Haha fug Frank!!! Hey, here's a thought - my right light was perfect only the left was Bad. Which of yours is bad? Want to buy my good light? PM me.

Thanks for the offer but my tail lights are the red crystal ones. It's the right that needs replacement.

Not sure if I just got lucky or if he finally got sick of me.
Initially, Frank was not hard to get a hold of. He seemed to think a new resistor pack was all I needed for the light. He sent me a new resistor and once that didnt work it took 8 emails and 5-6 weeks to get another response. He sent me an address and I sent the faulty left light back..
Just emailed him letting I know it has been delivered. Now the waiting begins....

I had a terrible experience with Frank at Orange Tuning, they guy NEVER answers emails and I'm not the only one. He's quick to sell you something when as there is a problem he disappears!!!!

I feel your pain. I actually had success and he sent me a new light. Like I said, after many emails he finally replied. I had to ship the faulty light back to Germany and wait another 3-4 weeks but I finally got a new light last week. I actually bought an extra left tail light from speedster source so I had something in case frank never replied so now I have an extra if the left goes out again. Anyways, don't give up. He may reply and work with you eventually.

OMG, everyone has the same problem. I also got he lights fro Fish. Worked without resistors for first few months. Then Let light out, tired resistors, swapped resistors with no luck. Then I contacted Dectane directly and they sent me a few new resistors. That took about 2 months. But it still did solve the problem. I'm emailing Dectane directly again to see what they can provide as a solution. But even if they send me a new light, i might run into the same problem again in a few months. I don't know about you guys, but I need a quality part on my baby. I'm leaning towards ROCTEC. Any opinions?

Too funny, this is not my normal forum but I could not help looking at this post. I had the exact same issue with the Dectane tail lights on my 2010 Touareg... I would get an intermittent brake light out error on the right side. All other lights worked fine and it would fix itself during driving most of the time. Drove me crazy for a few weeks. I finally decided to dig deep into is and the problem was surprising and might be the same issue for you guys.

One of the wire connectors inside the plug for the Dectane lights was loose. What this meant is that it would look fine initially but when you plugged the car harness into the Dectane plug it would push the connector for the one wire out enough to cause an intermittent connection. I fixed it by replugging the harness for the affected light back in and verifying the plugs where all seated properly by pushing them in fully from the backside of the connector (where the wires come out from the plug going to the light). This solved the problem for me. Might be worth checking.
