track day

gorgeous day on the track today - Mosport in Bowmanville, ontario.

45 participants. a few observations -

1-driver makes a difference: great performances by a 26 year old VW and a 29 year old Volvo. there was a pretty GT3 RS out there that did really well too

2-practice makes me less terrible. figuring out lines, where to throttle, where to brake, and how to use oversteer improved my times and made me feel really fast (until i saw the leaderboard).

3- sport mode is real. hitting that button made the car so much more responsive and quick.

4- tires made a difference. i used my stock tires, and was squealing like a pig in heat. following better lines helped for sure, i don't know maybe i just have a long way to go!

see you next season Mosport!

Amen!! My first track day I thought I was doing well until I was passed by a Dodge Neon!!! It wasn't really until then I understood how badly I needed lessons and how important they are!

i actually forgot the point of my thread...

wanted to ask if there was any consensus regarding post-track day maintenance: take it in for inspection, service sooner than every 15000km, that kind of thing.
