The stud/lugnut conversion makes taking the wheels/tires on and off much easier. If your doing alot of track days and switch out tires and wheels often and don't mind a less appealing lugnut use a open end steel lugnut, much less expensive and more durable.

I know this is an older thread and most everyone has already posted a suggestion, but instead of black caps that might fall off we do have Porsche black lugs now:

Not availible in the 5mm longer GT bolts. Only standard size.
