Leather surround for PDK

I just got this from Suncoast...matches my full leather interior, and adds what was missing...I think it looks much better than the plain plastic PDK surround that comes with the car...this really should come with the full leather interior from the get go...thoughts?

Looks great and of course it should be part of the full leather interior, as well as rear console, as well as sports seats' backs, that's what full leather interior should mean. But PAG just milks every little detail ad nauseum.

Is the color match perfect? How easy was it to install?

BTW... I noticed that that leather surround costs more ($390) in the 2010 order guides than the part from Suncoast !?

Brought it to my autobody guy...they had it installed in about 30 minutes...it was a bit more work than they initially said, but they got it done perfectly...the color match is PERFECT, as is the stitching match...it looks like it came that way...I am sooo happy with it...now I need to figure out what else I can do...does the center console (ashtray) come in leather? I hate that plastic stuff...

Everything comes in leather, for a price (a huge one). The leather console can be ordered for about $1.1k, the sports seats backs for an outrageous $1.8k. Then there are all kinds of bits like door pieces, dash pieces and rear cover pieces. All expensive. Full leather in PAG lingo is anything but.

Thanks...agree on the little pieces...even if they raised the price a bit on the full leather interior and just added in those pieces that are missing, that would be much better....so the center console...is that something that can be added or only from the factory?

I have one on the way - was hoping for a DIY, but hmm...guess I'll see how the instructions look.

I just put a VAIS iPod adapter in the GX470 - lots of trim and the entire Nav/Radio unit had to come out, but I had really detailed instructions for that.

PDK **** had to come off, but didn't see how they did it....the whole thing took them about 30 minutes....they were being really careful.

Looks great, nice touch from the standard plastic/vinyl lining.

If Full-Leather is around $3k extra than standard leather, what does it included aside from the PCM and dash (the latter which we sit on so much, we need full leather on )

The full leather includes the dash, doors, NAV surround etc....should be more...but it is much preferred (at least in my opinion).

There's really no such thing as Standard Leather, other than as a color, but not as a trim.

You can get:
- Partial Leather Seats (the insert but not the sides unless vented, then upper bolster surface is leather) - other bits of the car are synthetic
- Leather Seats (inserts and sides are leather - maybe entire seat)
- Leather Interior - seats, dash, door and rear side panels and option of non-standard color (more $$$).
- Options - a long list of other leather bits -PCM, visors, pillars, dome light,...over $20K if you went for the full full-leather.

Thanks for that.

I've always found it criminal that Porsche does not include "full leather" (your "Leather Interior" bullet) as standard equipment on at least the Carrera S... We're talking $100k cars here.

I believe it's standard on the TT, but even there you can probably add $10k worth of additional leather add-ons.

I was looking at a few Carrera S models a few weeks ago, sat in a few with the 'standard leather' - wasn't all that bad. While the leather around the PCM and dash is nice and makes the car a little "richer," the "standard" equipment is sufficient and good enough. You still get some leather on the door arm-rest, so they've done a good job.
