My Poor New Car

OK I just completed the worst day of my life. While driving to a meeting today I was pulling away from an intersection behind this PUNK *** TEENAGER when the ***** thought I was tailgating him and he jumped on the brakes to a complete stop Friken Brake Checked ME. I hit him at about 3mph and got away with what appears to be plastic bumper only.

So the kid gets a ticket for erratic or aggressive driving in the 2nd degree and I get a dam ticket for following to close. I have a witness that stopped and gave a report to the officer that the kid clearly had a aggressive road rage action against the guy in the Porsche, but the cop tells me in that in this kind of car you should be able to stop if you were not following to close.... man we only just pulled away from a stop light how far away am I supposed to be????????

I talk with an attorney on Friday any suggestions??????

OH yeah I had to chase the kid down for 10 blocks but somehow the officer doesn’t see that as leaving the scene of an accident

The same thing happened to me, although not in a porsche. Basically, two cars were pulling off from a light, I was second, and two more cars ran the red light on the crossing road. I hit the guy in front of me because I was"following too close". My insurance had to pay for both cars and it went down on my record as my fault, even though these other cars ran the red light, because they sure didn't stop. Now, unless I'm being a dick, I give the car in front of me at least 1.5 car lengths before I roll off.

people suck.

i was rearended in my RED boxster while stopped at a red light on a clear sunny day by some lowlife ****in old woman in a $100 car.

and the cop gave me the same attitude he probably gave you. all porsche drivers are idiots/people who live in my town are clueless. blah blah. at least he gave the ticket to the right person.

now a days, when i'm in traffic, i drive with the mental attitude that everyone is out to ram me.

bumper is easy to fix. if paint isn't scratched. a dent can be removed. worse case, the bumper skin isn't hard to replace.

clutch can be replaced and are you sure it is toast? are you slipping? If mileage is low, you may get it replaced under warranty if the dealer will help you.

it's annoying and sickening but don't lose sight of things. the damage isn't that bad.

Thanks Guys yes I am so lucky on the damage it is only the bumper skin. it has a couple deep scratches but no other damage. It's not like I tested to clutch to see if it will slip if I'm hard on it....... If I am sucsessful in court then his insurance will paying to have a look at the clutch see if it's glazed up or missing like 10,000 miles worth of missing material?????

Thanks so much for letting me whine I feel a little better this morning.

Apparently you were following to close. Its just a car. I have nice cars and they all get door dinged, dented, abused in some way shape or form. Driving is inherently risky to both you and your vehicle and you have to accept that. I'm sure the "punk *** kid" thinks your a "rich Porsche driving *****" so touche.

mad916....

I am sorry for your experience but if this is the worst day in your life you live in a bubble pal.

It's just a car. Nose gets damaged, get a new nose. If you leg got cut in an accident you cant just get a new leg.....see where I am going?

Life is good that we can afford these cars, but lets not get carried away here. It is just a car and can be replaced if need be, You are safe...thats all that really matters.

Yes I was obviously a little upset when I wrote the post and no not the worst day of my life.....

I am truly blessed in life and feel very fortunate.

I don’t know how much money you two have .....

But this is a HUGE investment for me, I have worked so hard, saved my money, and have waited for years to own this car and $80,000. It’s not just a car.

This kid committed a criminal offence and you two can kiss my as

You know, in all fairness to you, while I was out doing my rounds this morning I was checking how quickly/closely I followed people away from a red light. Never once did I feel that if someone "brake checked" me did I feel I would have rear ended them, in fact not even close and I am a fairly aggressive driver.

I'll be the first one to admit when I make and *** of myself but when you call someone a punk *** kid and then reference the cop having a bad attitude after you rear ended someone, not gonna get a lot of sympathy from me.

I did forget to mention that at the front of the 4 car chain leaving the light was a truck and a pup full rock truck. (Unfortunately I live near a rock quarry but another ***** session) the whole line of us cars did the accordion thing because behind the truck.

That is why I got too close to him you.............

The kid jumped out cussing up a storm and in my face and was a complete punk ....and was Sighted with potential felony offence what more do you need to hear

Now go back to driving around all day judging people you have never met.

I'm sure your clutch is fine, to test it , put it in 5th and start from a stop, a good clutch should kill the motor. That punk needs his *** kicked 14 times a day.
