Black chrome for the wheels and flat black for the tips and emblems.

I'll be the first to admit that chrome isn't my thing. That said....it looks pretty damn cool with that color red. It might the only combo where it works.
Pics don't tell the whole story, but your red with black would be too much contrast IMHO. Even with black tips, there's just not enough other black stuff visible on the car to 'make it flow'.
What you've got is a stand-out. Not sure I'd pay to trade for a more common look.
Then again....it's your car. So, good luck.

This is a good recommendation. Perhaps the only way to go would be to go with a 3-Piece Anthracite / chrome lip wheel...that might look good. I'll have to carefully consider my options. Maybe I'll have the rims re-chromed and but some spacers and new sticky rubber on them and call it a day. I was looking for a racier look but perhaps I need to do this on my next PCar in a few years. It might be good to try and keep this car stock.

I used Anthracite on my wifey's car and it looked pretty good. But there was a lot of black/red contrast.

Be careful with the powder coating. That can result in harm to the alloy.

I have to say I think the chrome looks cool with that ruby red. Your car looks amazing. I want to do something with my wheels as well, but need to educate myself a little more.

Oh boy. I think i might stick with chrome for while. Perhaps something with a polished lip down the road. Ill still need to rechrome the wheels. Spacers and chrome exhaust tips.

I had chrome factory wheels on my first Porsche (black 996 C4) and I think they looked pretty good, but on your car, the chrome just doesn't do it. I currently have a 996 Turbo with ch rome HRE's and it looks great, but again it's a black car and I think that makes all the difference. Ironically I debadge all my cars and get them as non-flashy as possible but the chrome wheels on a black 911 just look great if it's the right type of wheel like an HRE. I'd look at a silver wheel or something a little less flashy for your car. I don't know if black would look right with the red car so I'd go with a simple silver color.

I'm thinking I can put new rubber, spacers and powder coating for around $2500.

If your budget is $2500 I would just snag a new set of wheels instead of dumping more money into the ones you already have. Cruise the for sale sections and also Modbargains has some good 19"s reasonably priced and maybe a set of OZ ultraleggeras from tirerack. Just my 2cents,GL
