Pointless Radio in the 911
I always wanted my 91 to be well loaded with the premium Bose stereo etc.
Today was a nice day and i was out with my Possi doing some fun runs in the 911.
I realized that i can never use the radio on my car. I just cannot get over listening to the glorious wail of the flat-6. My God this engine sounds good. Why does Porsche even bother with fitting a radio in there?

Because some of us drive our cars a lot more and in traffic, and the soothing music calms the urge to just run over everyone else that is in the way and ruining a perfect driving opportunity.
I agree.
I don't know about this but maybe someone can confirm; The DFI motors doesn't sound as 'earthly' or 'raw' as the non-DFI motors. The DFI's sound too well controlled and refined.
I haven't driven a non-DFI 997, just my 997.2 and a non-DFI 987.2 (base model).

I like to hear what the car is doing (as well as feel and see). Hearing the car, rather than the radio, adds another critical sensory input to help make decisions.
(Besides, can anyone actally operate those miniscule radio buttons, especially while driving? It's like Porsche specifically designed the radio to deter usage!)
