Transmission Fluid. Drain and fill.

I am trying to change the transmission fluid in my 2007 C2S.

I have seen a few DIY pics that led me to believe it's not too difficult to drain transmission fluid and put in new fluid.

I am confused... All the DIY pics I see online look like the plugs for transmission are similar to the OIL drain plug. However I can't find any plugs like that on the transmission.

Are these the correct plugs? What kind of tool do I uses for these.

Is this difficult?

I am thinking this is the drain plug. It's on the bottom of the transmission.

So would this be the fill plug? It's about halfway up on the transmission (passenger side). I am confused because it looked like other DIY's online showed the fill plug to be on drivers side.

I also noticed another thing, up higher by the axle (passenger side). What is this plug for?

Manual or Tiptronic?

On the manual, the transmission shares fluid with the brake system. There is a bleed nipple on the transmission and you just bleed like you would do with the calipers.

On Tip, I would't know. Maybe ask on RennTech?

Mine is a manual transmission. I think you're thinking of clutch fluid?

I am talking about the manualy transmission fluid.

b2sc is infamous around these parts
In my experience with MTs (but not 911s), there will typically be 3 plugs for the tranismission fluid drain/fill procedure.

The bottom is obviously the drain plug, the top is the fill plug where oil is entered into the tranny case and the middle plug is a "full" plug. With this plug removed, fill the transmission with fluid from the top orifice until oil your new fluid comes out of this outlet. It's full. Reinsall the plugs and you're all set.

Oupsssss! You are ABSOLUTELY right, I was thinking about the clutch slave cylinder.

b2sc is correct, the middle is the "full plug".

Sorry for the brain fart,

T.

P.S.: Don't drink and post!
