Congrats. Glad there are still people out there who aren't spooked by the hype of IMS problems in the 05 cars! Enjoy that car, and tell us when you pass the 100k mark.

Reps to you! I'd replace the IMS bearing if it hasn't been done and drive it for another 106,000 miles!!

Sorry, I've been away for a while. My 2008 C4 Cab was bought new in April 2009 and has been my daily drive ever since. 73k and counting. I use a 996 hardtop for the winter (picked that up for $225 + paint to match the midnight blue). I use snows in the winter and turn off PSM for donuts Other than maintenance and lots of tires, the only pre-mature (IMHO) failure has been the water pump at 60k.

an '05 C2S may or may not have a seviceable IMS bearing. approximate time of switch over was 1/05-3/05 production date. you're never certain until the tranny is dropped. some cars are falling out of that production range, before and after, for both bearings.

Just an update... 05' Carrera S. Just ticked over 72k miles and she's running strong. I've gone through the following items in the past year as preventive maintenance and for piece of mind since I didn't have a concrete service history.
- LN Engineering IMS + RMS + New Clutch + New clutch slave cylinder + Resurfaced Flywheel
- Water Pump + Low Temp Thermostat
- Replaced PASM suspension (left rear was blown) + tie rod ends
- AOS + Hoses
- Serpentine Belt, Plugs, Coilpacks
- Resurfaced parking lights & headlights + clear bra wrapped
- New rear Hankook tires (305's)
Next up, rejoining the local autocross group and eventually getting in a couple DE sessions.
