Well looks like I am the first guy to have a DRL LED issue...

I happend to take pictures of the car today when both lights were working properly (Pics attached) I was at a stop light this evening and I noticed in the reflection of the car in front of me, some of the lights were out in LED's. The middle part of the lower row. I removed the light to check all the connections and they were all fine. Unfortunately it looks like one of mine is faulty. I emailed Ray at ROTtec and I waiting for a response. I am sure he will take care of it. Kind of a bummer but I will live.

So much for all this testing and quality control that we were hearing of for the last 6 months...

This is starting to spin out of control rather fast.

I received a very brief email back from Ray 4 days ago late at night saying he would contact the factory and file a warranty claim & would send a replacement once it was approved. I have not heard a peep since.

I usually jump on anything that looks good but I know the first batch of anything is going to have issues. That is the reason I was not part of the first group buy.

Sorry to hear about your problem OP, hope Ray gets it fix soon.

That whole, "I'll wait for them to authorize the return" is the deal killer. He's a middleman, not the Chinese manufacturer directly. I'll wait a year for the price to drop 80% and the quality issues to get shaken out.

I'm in the retail business and I would NEVER sell something that I could not blindly stand behind. Ever. Seems like certain death.

It'd be great if Ray could jump on this thread or one of the other ones and just let us know what's going on. I'm patient, but less so with silence.

At this point I counted roughly 23 different members and growing that are getting error message and one where LEDs are burning out. several with condensation, on this and other forums. all were purchased through ray.

What I'm wondering is were these all bought from the same group buy, or was there a second buy that these are from?

So far these are the issues that I have had...I purchased the front and rear LEDs with the interior set and also the Head light bulbs....Thus far it's been a nightmare...
Ray,

I'm getting error codes right and left.....

1) The new head light bulb for the passenger side is flickering and goes out irratically....Prior to installing these bulbs my headlights functioned just fine, I'm getting a check RIGHT Head light code for the Onboard Computer

2) The DRL's aren't functioning as they should as I stated in the earlier email..

3) The bulbs you sent with the REAR LED's were defective so...I put some new one's in....I'm still getting an error code to check my rear fog light on the Onboard Computer...

4) The bulb for the Dome light in Center light console is to small and is not the same size as the stock tube bulb....

I get error messages from time to time too. Both right & left. No malfuntion though. (yet?)

By the way, the interior led lights Ray sent are awesome. It just gives it a very nice quality touch.

Design testing needs to happen with cars driving around in the real world with the gear on over time. Winter, with cold air and then operatinonally the elements heating up and the expansion/contraction that can do to the interconnections inside the lamps and the vibrations from the roadway.. all can play out different now than in May, or on a bench test.

Then depending on who makes them where, you may get great exemplar from the OEM, and once they proceed to mass production they cut a few things here and there to improve their profit margins or ramp up production speed to meet quotas which results in entirely different units produced vs what was spec'ed or exemplar tested. And that you don't find until the manufacturer ramps up and delivers.
