Towing question

So my wife and I arrived in Vancouver today, we rented a place on VRBO,
Great building downtown, unfortunately, I parked in the wrong spot in the underground structure, the owner of the space was going to tow my car!
Instead the building manager intercepted him, and they just rolled my car back out of the space. They put rollers underneath the rear tires and left the front tires on the ground and pushed the car backwards about 20 feet, the car was not in gear but the parking brake was on. I don't think they could have damaged it, but I was worried since it is a C4, the driveline cannot be damaged because it was not in gear, am I correct in assuming that?

Correct; your axles would have rotated on the front wheels, but your clutch/torque converter would have not been engaged to the engine while out of gear, i.e. safe.

I guess you won't have to worry about getting a visit from the local friendly neighborhood welcoming committee...
