Red face Help with purchase....please

Previous Ferrari owner for the last 5 years (348 & 355 Spiders) about to purchase a '06 911 S Cab as I need the back seat for my 2 yr old son. Car has 26K miles and is a local 1 owner super clean car. Should I be worried about all the IMS failure talk? Any other input would be helpful. Thanks!

What JJ said. '05s are more prone to IMS failures.

Best piece of advice is to have a PPI/DME done by a reputable shop.

Enjoy the car! Once you have it, pics are expected.

Happy Holidays.

Get a PPI with DME scan make sure there is no body work and you should be fine. IMS is a known small risk, but just drive and enjoy and don't worry about it.

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the responses and assistance. PPI will be scheduled. Car I was interested in already has a deposit from over the Holiday weekend. Plenty out there though. The search continues....will post pics when I find the right one.

DME's will tell you the number of over revs, some will tell you to run if there is 1 level 1.

I had 65,000+ Level 1's and 2's plus some 3,4, and 5's, don't let a few discourage you from a purchase. Ask the shop that is doing the PPI what they think is acceptable.

Enjoy!
