Basically its the same car from 2009-2012. I have had my 2009 since new and its been great (14,000 miles). I think a 2009 represents a good value with the 991 coming out. You can probably get an S in the $70's maybe even lower depending on color / options.
I am not sure I'd like to be concerned with the failures found in 05, though 05-06's C2S seem to list in the high $50's with approx 50K kms...so considerable savings. Perhaps something to consider to save for the P and mods on the first.

Curious what sort of influx of trades/lease returns we'll see here when the 991's deliver. Hoping to be in one by the summer though.

I found the CPO '08 to be a better deal when I was looking. I took price, depreciation and warranty into the account, and the 08 S CPO came out ahead of the 09 S to me. I knew I was going to mod, and I knew that when I was done that my .1 will not be very different from .2. I will post some nice professional pics soon...

If you want a PDK then a 2010 would be a better value then a 2011 or 2012. There are plenty of low miles 997.2 around but the recent market price are still quite strong even with the intro of the 991. I would say the market price has gone up around 5-7k from a year before. check out Excellence magazine's buyer's guide but I don't think they have the 997.2 section on yet. Is still a good read. GL
