New wing going on tomorrow!

With the new year, it's time to finish off something that didn't get done last year. I'll be installing the Turbo decklid as well as the FVD lip that I acquired a while ago. I'll be posting pics once it is done. Hopefully the weather is going to cooperate here so I can get the installation done.

K-E-V 01-15-2012 04:49 PM

We had the first snow of the season today and the 4S handled just fine:

Where did u order the turbo deck lid, and how much was it?

Got it from a member on the forum for a good deal. Look for those who had replaced their Turbo wing with a GT2(RS) / GT3RS wing.

K-E-V 01-16-2012 11:51 AM

Dropped it off this morning, quite a bit of snow / ice on the road.

I LIKE seeing a P-car out in the weather!!! Yeah!!!!

Good for you!

w00tPORSCHE 01-16-2012 10:36 PM

Kev, take it easy out there. Any snow can be overwhelming for a majority of drivers in the Seattle area. Some of them are oblivious to winter driving conditions. Loved that first hot in the snow.

Thanks doc :)

This is my 3rd winter so I'm painfully aware of how bad the drivers of Seattle are. I'll probably stay in the hospital tomorrow until most of the traffic dissipated before going home.

w00tPORSCHE 01-17-2012 10:51 AM

My bad, Kev. Don't know why I keep thinking that this is your first winter although I very well know your PGY status. BTW, who is doing your decklid conversion ? Is it motoring unlimited ? They have a great crew there for sure.

spoddle 01-17-2012 06:38 PM

Subscribed to see the final product. Any plans to switch to a turbo or GT3 front?

Eurotech is doing the install but I'll probably have the guys at MU take a look at the intake snorkel to make sure that they line up with the intake.

Probably doing a Getty Design GT3RS front with OEM RS fender extension and front lip. The real one is a little too rich for my case right now (6500+ from Suncoast)

With the 2 inches of snow that we got last week shutting down the entire city, my car will finally be done tomorrow. I'll post pics as soon as I get it back.

looks great!

Nice to see some serious modding going on here....been a little dull for a bit. Your car looks great, the center exhaust is perfection....thanks for keeping us updated and the pics. The turbo deck lid operational I assume with second wing blade hydraulics? Did you have to swap out the stock airbox for fit? I had to on my 05 with the 997TT rear deck swap...

bliggity 01-29-2012 03:16 PM

Perfect

K-E-V 01-29-2012 03:45 PM

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

It's a Cargraphic 997.2 valvetronic system. I'm thinking of adding a set of 200-cell cat headers down the road.

Probably will stop once I finish the GT3 RS front end conversion and a set of nose lift coilovers :)

You mean the Turbo decklid with the GT2 style blade? I think it was over kill at the beginning, but it's look better day by day to me.

I have a 997.2 so I already have the 2 openings on my box, so I just need to modify the intake duct on the lids to match up with the intake box. The decklid is fully operational with stock hydraulics. I also deleted the 3rd brake light on my car and hooked up the Turbo 3rd brake light instead.

PT Doc 01-29-2012 03:49 PM

Very nice wing. How do you feel that the C4S handles in the snow?

It's pretty well behaved even with just A/S tires.

jeffrey262 01-30-2012 06:35 PM

Kev, your car looks sharp. Like the spoiler. Who is it?

An OEM 997 Turbo decklid conversion with Mischa GT2M wing blade in CF (which is painted with only the top portion exposed)

I would add the Cats, will really allow the car to open up.

mikegr 01-31-2012 02:19 AM

Awesome. Good work.

Hi Kev

How did you solve the match up with the intake ducts?
I am also installing a Turbo wing on my 997.2!

Thanks for an answer

Kev,

How extensive was the turbo wing conversion? The air box modification? Would you mind letting me know how much the total cost was? I have a 997.2 and I've been thinking about a turbo wing for a while!

For K-E-V :
you say: "I'm thinkin of adding a set of 200-cell cat headers down the road"
You add cats? What headers and cats fits?problems with check engine light turned on?
I would add 200 cells cats on my OM headers and I know that Cargraphic weld 200 cells cats on OM headers
do you know something about this ? useful informations ?
Thanks carlo parma italy
