Lost something somewhere in the car...
I was replacing my handbrake handle with a new alcantara piece and when pulling the handle off, the little clicker button flew off, bounced off the dash and got lost somewhere in the interior. I heard it bounce around on some hard plastic a few times but have no idea where it settled. I had to yank pretty hard so it had plenty of energy when it went on its little ride around the interior. Poking around under the seats and footwells with a flashlight yielded nothing. Any other thoughts about how to find something so small?
I hate to have to remove the seats - seems like a big pain in the ***.

Looked on top of dash and nothing to be seen. It could have gone down one of the dash vents - flashlight doesn't show anything but those things go deep. Hope it's not down there. Trying to decide whether to try to remove the seats tomorrow night to look for it. Does anyone know if that is a fairly easy DIY task? Otherwise, I'll get a new button from dealer and hope the lost one doesn't rattle. It will bug me knowing it is under there somewhere though.
Removing the seats is easy - four bolts each. Just watch the electric connections. And keep the key out of the ignition or disconnect the battery - don't want the airbags doing anything strange!
Turns out you can't buy just the button and a whole new handbrake assembly, besides being way more than I need is $800. I will remove the seats and look under them tonight. Hopefully I find the button under there somewhere.
Worst case scenario - does anyone know where it would end up if it went down the dashboard vent and how to retrieve it from there?
Thanks everyone!

In case anyone was curious - I pulled the driver's seat upon getting home and found the offending $800 button tucked away amid all the junk under the seat. I even found two fender guitar picks - guess the previous owner played guitar.
Removing the seat turned out to indeed be a simple task - thanks Dr. Bill.
